1. OVERVIEW:

Research is a creative activity aimed at solving backlog problems, confirming facts and theories on existing foundations, and reconfirming previous results of previous projects and works. Simultaneously, research is also developing and discovering new theories, theorems, problems, and applications in real life. Thus, research activities appear in both scientific and non-scientific issues. Research today is increasingly popular not only for scientists, professors, Ph.D., teachers, lecturers but also for students. Because the need to research is becoming more widespread with different ages, with many necessary purposes for teaching, today we will share our personal views in research and offer effective research methods for those who are having trouble not knowing how to start research.

2. RESEARCH METHODS:

2.1 Choose research topic:

Choosing a topic, field, or problem that suits your strengths plays a paramount role in deciding a perfect research paper. Then, depending on the contest's requirements or the purpose of the research, choose the right content for the problem you want to talk about. Here, we will talk more deeply about academic research methods for students who intend to challenge themselves in this field.

Academic research requires meticulousness, precision, and high concentration from the researcher. Therefore, choosing an entirely new topic requires you to thoroughly understand the problem you are aiming for and answer the questions that have not yet been answered. Get a satisfactory answer for several objective reasons. Simultaneously, to continue developing previous projects, you should also learn about the most basic knowledge and arguments and then answer their later arising problems.

2.2 Choose research method:

2.2.1 Through documents from the internet:

A thorough is the best starting point for choosing a research method since the assessment of the efforts of previous researchers can suggest a direction to answer the research question for your own project.

Here, we suggest some websites that can help you in academic research:

  1. Zlibrary: https://vn1lib.org/: This website can help you find the necessary documents, which contain many fields: Life & Social Science, Natural Sciences, Business… and so on

  2. OpenTax: https://openstax.org/: Bill Gates's website is open for all students around the world. You can find documents about many subjects on this website such as Science, Social Science, Maths,...

  3. Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/

  1. RefSeek: https://www.refseek.com/: The academic search engine is simple than Google in appearance. Refseek removes results unrelated to science, academia, and research.

2.2.2 Through previous dissertations of many professors - PhDs have been posted on the internet:

Many theses and previous research works of teachers and seniors have been uploaded on the internet. You can read and refer to the issues they have mentioned before to find the most effective next research direction for you. At the same time, it is possible to limit the duplication of ideas that have been exploited so as not to waste your time.

Maybe this will be a useful site for you!

ResearchGate: https://www.researchgate.net/: The website where scientists usually upload documents; however, there are some documents you need to ask for the references

2.2.3 Through consult with teachers who have expertise in the field of research that you choose

Directly asking questions, talk to teachers is also effectively helping you better define the research problem and want the best direction for all your research reports. You can directly contact your school's teachers or teachers of other schools you know for guidance and help with your research project. The problem research breakthrough, novel, generalized or not, not only depends on yourself but also support from your instructors there.

2.3 Research

After choosing the most feasible research method for ourselves, we will start researching. And here are some tips for you in the process:

2.3.1 Select appropriate documents:

When reading documents, there will be many different sources. For the research issue to become more transparent and more objective, it is necessary to choose and read carefully selected documents suitable for your purposes and needs. Furthermore, the authenticity of your research problem depends on the validity of the research data, the reliability of the measures taken to accumulate the data, and the time to perform the analysis. Therefore, It's essential to make sure your source is authenticated.

2.3.2 Memorize, highlight, and underline important points and parts of your documents:

References are endless, so after selecting the suitable material for your requirements, you need to read and ponder it carefully, then note down the crucial things. Of course, the things you note will be beneficial for your research! Simultaneously, to avoid wasting time on a document too much, you need to read the table of contents and find the section you need to read before reading and collecting the necessary content.

2.3.3 Make a detailed report specific to your research activity:

The report is a measure that most visually reflects the details of the problem you are researching, the experimental progress, and the limitations and shortcomings that your project is facing. Creating a report also makes it easier for you to keep track of how often the work you've done and will need to be done. In a recent article, we will write a specific and complete report to easily reach readers.

2.3.4 Limit the surrounding factors affecting your document reference process:

The process of reading documents is when you are entering input into your brain. Reading is more effective when you choose a time in a suitable space to reduce confounding factors. To get results: a good report, research product, or in other words a sound output, not only invest in documents, instructors but also depend on your knowledge.

That is my personal view and tips about academic research. Thank you so much for reading and supporting us. We hope it will help you in your upcoming research project. See you soon!
